At substation maintenance sites, defects such as large dispersion in circuit breaker opening and closing times, distorted travel curves, and abnormal coil currents are often difficult to locate with conventional multimeters. The HDKC-9 Circuit Breaker Mechanical Characteristics Tester is designed for such engineering problems. Based on high-speed data acquisition and a multi-channel synchronous trigger architecture, it provides technical engineers with quantifiable mechanical dynamic characteristic parameters.
The instrument has a built-in isolated adjustable DC power supply with a continuously adjustable output range of DC 6V to 270V and a short-time output current of up to 20A. It can directly drive electromagnetic, hydraulic, spring energy storage, and other operating mechanisms to complete opening, closing, reclosing, and re-opening operations. The built-in power supply adopts a hybrid scheme of capacitor energy storage and linear regulation, avoiding the voltage drop of conventional rectifier power supplies at the instant of operation and ensuring accurate action voltage test data.
It is equipped with 12 independent metal contact time channels and can simultaneously connect to the three-phase interrupters and auxiliary contacts of a circuit breaker. Displacement signals support linear sensors, rotary sensors, and acceleration sensors, synchronously acquiring three signals: contact opening/closing, travel displacement, and coil current. The embedded industrial control platform records the timing of each channel with microsecond-level time resolution, outputs the corresponding relationship between travel and speed every 1ms, and dynamically plots time-travel, speed-travel, and current waveform curves.
For the strong electromagnetic environment of 500kV and above substations, the instrument adopts induced voltage discharge protection circuits, floating design, large-area grounding, and digital filtering technology. On-site tests show that in an 800kV switchyard, the equipment can work stably, and the contact time channels record no false triggers. The built-in delay protection circuit automatically cuts off the operating power supply after the circuit breaker operates, avoiding long-term energization of the coil.
It supports both electric operation and manual operation modes. After wiring, operation types such as single close, single open, close-open, reclose, and re-open can be selected. A single operation can obtain all opening and closing data. The instrument can store 50 sets of test records, which are not lost after power failure. It is equipped with a clock circuit and a printing interface, supports on-site retrieval and printing of data and curves, and can also be connected to upload software for computer archiving and network access.
