During preventive testing, circuit breakers often exhibit scattered operating times and abnormal speed curves, making it difficult to quickly determine on site whether the problem lies in the coil circuit or the mechanism itself. The KCT-9200 Circuit Breaker Mechanical Characteristics Tester is designed for such troubleshooting needs. It can simultaneously record the opening and closing coil current waveforms and the contact operating sequence, providing a basis for fault diagnosis.
A conventional combination of a multimeter and a stopwatch can only obtain a single time value and cannot reflect the relationship between travel and speed; an independent coil current recorder requires an additional power supply and triggering device. The KCT-9200 integrates contact time channels, travel sensor interfaces, coil current measurement, and a built-in adjustable DC power supply into one unit. With a single wiring setup, it can complete synchronous acquisition of multiple parameters under operating sequences such as close-open, open-close, and close-open-close. Compared with separated solutions, it reduces on-site wiring steps and data deviations caused by unsynchronized triggering.
The device provides 6 to 12 independent metal contact time channels, with a time measurement range of 0.01 ms to 20000 ms and accuracy of ±(0.05%t+0.1) ms. The speed measurement range is 0.001 to 25.0 m/s, the travel measurement range is up to 1000 mm, and the resolution is 0.1 mm. The built-in DC power supply is continuously adjustable from DC 6 to 270 V, with a short-time output of no more than 20 A, allowing direct completion of low-voltage operation tests and mechanical life tests without an external on-site secondary power supply. The test channels have resistance to induced voltage interference and can withstand on-site induced voltages of 15 kV; after the circuit breaker operates, the coil voltage is automatically cut off to reduce the risk of equipment damage.
In the factory inspection stage, it is used to verify the consistency of circuit breaker mechanical characteristic parameters; during handover acceptance, it confirms that the operating time and speed curves of newly installed switches meet standard requirements; in preventive testing, data are periodically collected to evaluate the deterioration trend of mechanical performance; when refusal to operate, false operation, or abnormal operating time occurs, targeted diagnosis is carried out through the time-travel curve and coil current waveform. The device is suitable for SF6 switches, GIS combined electrical apparatus, vacuum switches, oil switches, as well as pole-mounted switches, contactors, relays, and other types.
The built-in memory can store 60 to 500 sets of test data, supports USB flash drive export and RS232 interface communication with a PC, and can print all data and motion curve charts on site. The power supply is AC 220 V ±10%, the operating temperature is -20°C to +50°C, and the unit weighs approximately 5 to 12 kg, making it easy to carry on site in substations. Speed definitions support user editing and saving, and multiple conventional circuit breaker speed definition templates are built in to adapt to the testing habits for different switch models.
