When selecting a mechanical characteristics tester for 10kV~500kV high voltage switches, design and selection personnel often encounter a type of problem: the instrument's nominal parameters appear to cover the requirements, but after connecting to an on-site circuit breaker, the opening/closing time and travel curve show abnormal jumps, or it cannot adapt to a specific operating mechanism. This is usually related to sensor matching, signal channel isolation, and triggering method, rather than a simple difference in accuracy specifications.
Some similar solutions use a single acceleration sensor to integrate and calculate displacement, which is prone to cumulative errors in the buffering stage after the circuit breaker operates, resulting in distortion of the travel curve. The GCK-3010 High Voltage Switch Mechanical Characteristics Tester uses dual-channel access with a linear displacement sensor and an angular displacement sensor, which can respectively adapt to different operating mechanisms, directly obtain the moving contact travel, and reduce the sources of error in intermediate conversion steps.
The opening and closing process of a circuit breaker is accompanied by strong electromagnetic interference. If the sampling clocks of each channel are independent, it is difficult to ensure consistency of time parameters. This instrument uses a multi-channel synchronous sampling architecture, where signals such as closing resistors, auxiliary contacts, and opening/closing coil currents share a common time base, and the time deviation between channels is controlled at the microsecond level. Compared with time-division multiplexing test solutions, the basis for judging the simultaneity of break time is more complete, reducing misjudgments caused by channel asynchrony.
The instrument supports 12-channel break time measurement, with a time resolution of 0.1ms, a travel measurement range of 0~1000mm, and a speed measurement range of 0~20m/s. It is suitable for routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and pre-commissioning acceptance of 10kV~500kV high voltage switches. The device has a built-in DC operating power supply, which can perform operating voltage tests on opening/closing coils and simplify on-site wiring. During design selection, it is recommended to confirm the sensor configuration according to the circuit breaker operating mechanism type, number of breaks, and travel range, avoiding focusing only on time accuracy while ignoring mechanical adaptability.
