During inspections before and after the thunderstorm season, substation O&M personnel often need to determine whether zinc oxide arresters have abnormal leakage current due to valve disc aging. The KDX-9500 Zinc Oxide Arrester Tester is designed for rapid on-site screening and can measure the total current, resistive current, and harmonic components of arresters under de-energized or energized conditions, providing a basis for insulation condition assessment.
Before measurement, the range can be preset according to the nominal parameters of the test object, and the instrument automatically monitors leakage current during voltage rise. When the current exceeds the set range, the device emits an audible prompt and retains the data record, making it easy for O&M personnel to adjust wiring or terminate the test in a timely manner. This function is suitable for device grouping and verification, reducing repetitive operations.
The device adopts a multi-channel isolated structure to reduce crosstalk between channels. Leakage current signals are acquired synchronously during voltage rise. The starting action voltage U1mA measurement range is 0–1999 V, and the total current measurement range is 1 mA–10 mA (expandable), meeting the on-site testing needs of arresters at voltage levels from 10 kV to 500 kV.
According to the DL/T 987 standard, the total current, resistive current, and harmonic components of zinc oxide arresters at operating voltage are important indicators for judging insulation condition. The KDX-9500 can record the above parameters synchronously, and the test results can be compared with historical data to assist O&M personnel in formulating maintenance plans.
The tester is suitable for routine inspection of arresters in substations, power plants, and industrial power distribution systems. During on-site use, ensure reliable grounding, connect the voltage and current circuits according to the wiring diagram, and verify the range setting before measurement. Save the data promptly after testing for subsequent analysis.
