During on-site partial discharge detection, weak signals that are difficult to judge, uncertain sensor selection, and incomplete data records are commonly encountered. The PD-9500 partial discharge detector is designed to address these practical issues and help maintenance personnel complete insulation condition testing.
The device provides a gain adjustment range of 0–60 dB, allowing sensitivity to be adjusted according to the on-site interference level. The sampling rate supports 100 MS/s, enabling capture of transient earth voltage, ultrasonic, and electromagnetic wave signals generated by partial discharge. The measurement range covers 1 pC–10000 pC (depending on the sensor), suitable for testing needs of equipment at different voltage levels.
The PD-9500 can be connected to various types of sensors, including transient earth voltage sensors, ultrasonic sensors, and ultra-high frequency sensors. During operation, the corresponding sensor should be selected according to the type of equipment under test, and the coupling surface should be kept clean with reliable contact. The device supports signal amplitude comparison and time difference analysis to assist maintenance personnel in determining the discharge location.
After powering on, first perform a background noise test and record the environmental interference level, then test the equipment under test. Test data can be saved to the device's internal storage and exported in common formats for subsequent comparative analysis. It is recommended to record the sensor model, gain setting, and background noise value for each test for traceability.
The instrument is suitable for partial discharge detection of high-voltage switchgear, transformers, cable terminations, and GIS equipment. During regular inspections, insulation degradation trends can be identified through comparison of data before and after; during troubleshooting, acoustic or electrical location methods can be used to narrow down the defect range. Please read the operation manual before use and follow procedures for safety protection.
