Zinc oxide arrester tester is a "physical examination expert" used in power systems to ensure grid safety.

It is mainly divided into two categories, which are used to detect different key performances of arresters:

Live characteristic tester: Under the condition that the arrester is running without power outage, detect whether its internal insulation is damp and whether the valve plate is aging.

DC parameter tester: Under the condition that the arrester is out of power and offline, measure its DC reference voltage and leakage current to judge its basic electrical performance.

The following will introduce these two instruments in detail.
